Let’s see…I’m Holly. I love music and traveling, and at the heart of both of those is my love for the band Hanson. This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you who I am and what my blog is about, but I always have a hard time trying to categorize something so specific. Am I a travel blogger? Well, I blog and travel, but someone wanting packing tips probably doesn’t want 3,000 words on the time I accidentally fist bumped Taylor Hanson to go with it. So then is this a Hanson website? Sort of? I guess so? If all the Hanson news you're looking for is one fan's personal observations and opinions?
Here’s what I do know: my blog is exactly what I was looking for back in 2006 when I fell back into this fan base, only it didn’t exist yet. I loved reading about other fans’ experiences at shows, but I could never find enough to satisfy my growing curiosity. I always wished there was another story to read, and I always wanted my own story to tell. (And having never braved a crowd of Hanson fans or driven over state lines, a few good travel tips would have been useful, too.) I guess that’s my target audience: 2006 me. Niche population: 1. Genre:…fan…nonfiction?
So if you’re 2006 me, or maybe just a fan that can understand the desire to get in a car and travel far and wide for the music you love, then you’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find a mix of show reviews, travel tips, a few stories that sound like I made them up, and the occasional rambling, opinionated, semi-irrelevant post . If you ever have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, feel free to leave a comment or send me an email at holly@travelingfan.net.
See you on the road!
